As we move into the summer, we’re excited to share the latest developments across our live sites. From a completed healthcare refurbishment to progress on industrial and education projects, it’s been a busy and productive period for the RLX Construction team.
Project Completion: Histopathology Refurbishment
We have successfully handed over the Histopathology refurbishment project, delivered over three carefully managed phases to ensure minimal disruption to staff and ongoing medical operations at The Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
The project involved a comprehensive refurbishment of several key areas, including:
- Conversion of an existing room into a fully functional and modern office space
- Upgrades to an adjacent corridor to improve access, flow, and compliance
- Creation of a new laboratory preparation room, designed to meet clinical and operational
standards
The works were delivered with a full package of new mechanical and electrical systems, vinyl flooring, suspended ceilings, fire door upgrades, bespoke joinery, and a complete redecoration scheme throughout.
This project is an example of our ability to operate in sensitive, live environments, delivering
high-spec results with minimal disruption. A huge thank you to the team for their professionalism
and dedication throughout the programme.
Factory Extension Progress: Arden Winch, Sheffield
Works continue at our factory extension project for Arden Winch in Sheffield. This industrial development is a significant step forward for our client’s growing operations, and we’re proud to be playing a role in their expansion.
Key recent milestones include:
- Completion of piling works
- Successful pouring of the concrete slab
- Erection of the steel frame providing the full footprint of the new extension
Looking ahead, cladding works are scheduled to commence, which will begin to fully enclose
the structure with Internal fit-out phases due to follow.
Nottingham Sixth Form New Build – Internal Works in Progress
Progress continues on our new build project for a sixth form education centre in Nottingham, where we are building a high-quality educational space for future generations.
On site, the internal build is advancing well:
- Partition walls are currently being installed throughout the new structure
- First fix mechanical and electrical installations
- Preparation is underway for the next phase, with floor coverings and final finishes
scheduled to begin in the coming weeks
