A busy July across healthcare, industrial and education projects
July has been another busy month for the team at RLX Construction, with significant progress being made across a diverse range of live projects.
Ward Refurbishment | Phase 2 Complete
We’re delighted to have successfully reached another major milestone on our ward refurbishment project for Sheffield teaching hospitals, with Phase 2 now completed.
Following the successful completion of the second phase, our site teams have now moved directly into Phase 3 – the final stage of the refurbishment programme.
Keeping essential services live while carrying out refurbishment works presents its own set of challenges. We’ve paid particular attention to logistics, access, sequencing and the continued operation of existing services to ensure that works can progress safely and efficiently without unnecessarily disrupting the surrounding environment.
The successful handover of Phase 2 is a reflection of the hard work and cooperation of everyone involved.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the client, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and all members of the wider project team for their continued collaboration, communication and support throughout the works.
With the final phase now underway, we look forward to building on the progress achieved so far and bringing the refurbishment programme through to completion.
Industrial Expansion | Roof Alterations Completed
Another key milestone this month has been the completion of roof alteration works as part of an industrial expansion project.
The works have been undertaken to prepare the existing facility for the installation of new infrastructure, forming an important part of the client’s wider expansion and development plans.
The project is being delivered for one of the UK’s leading casting companies, operating within a highly specialised manufacturing sector. Casting is a technically demanding industry, with facilities requiring carefully planned infrastructure, specialist equipment and robust production environments to support complex manufacturing processes.
The completion of the roof alterations represents an important step forward and provides the necessary preparation for the next stage of the development.

Education | Multiple Projects Underway
Our education portfolio has also continued to grow, with works now underway across a number of schools in the school summer holidays.
The programme includes a variety of projects and scopes, ranging from full refurbishments through to targeted upgrades and maintenance works.
Each project brings its own requirements, programme and logistical considerations. Our teams are working closely with school representatives and project stakeholders to coordinate access, programme activities and site operations, ensuring that the works are delivered to a high standard and within the required timescales.
We’re particularly pleased to be supporting the improvement of educational environments through these projects and look forward to seeing the transformation take shape over the coming months.
