Completion of RLX Construction new HQ

September 2024 marked a significant month with the completion of the refurbishment of our new headquarters in Sheffield. This move represents a significant step for RLX Construction as we continue to grow and expand our presence in the commercial construction industry.

“Moving into our new headquarters is a key step forward for RLX. This space not only reflects our identity and commitment to quality but also provides us with the capacity to increase our staff as we expand into new markets and projects.” – Liam Kilner, Director at RLX Construction

Progress on Historic Peak District Project

The restoration of a Grade II Listed building in the heart of the Peak District, continues to progress well.

Our work on the external façade is advancing smoothly, with a focus on preserving the historic integrity of this iconic structure.

  • Re-pointing using traditional methods: Our team has carefully undertaken re-pointing to restore the mortar joints, ensuring the longevity and stability of the building.
  • Roofing repairs: We’ve tackled essential repairs to the roof, ensuring it remains watertight while respecting its original design.
  • Stone restoration: Detailed restoration of the stonework has been a priority, safeguarding the building’s unique aesthetic.
  • External decoration: The final touch will be external decoration to enhance the appearance while providing protection from the elements.

These conservation efforts are vital in maintaining the building’s heritage while giving it a new lease on life for future generations.

Charity Golf Day

In addition to our recent project work, we had the pleasure of participating in the JHA Architecture Charity Golf Day in support of Rugby for Heroes. The event took place at The Welcombe Golf Club, Hallmark Hotels, and featured special guest and patron, Mike Tindall, former England rugby star. It was a fantastic day for networking and raising funds for a great cause.

Rugby for Heroes is a UK-based charity that supports members of the armed forces as they transition from military to civilian life. Founded in 2009, the charity is driven by the rugby community, using the sport’s values of teamwork, discipline, and camaraderie to aid veterans.

Rugby for Heroes has strong ties to the rugby world, with ambassadors and patrons like Mike Tindall, a former England rugby star and World Cup winner, playing key roles in raising the profile of the charity. These figures help bridge the gap between rugby fans and the charity’s mission, inspiring greater participation and support.
