Project Overview
- Client: Woodseats Medical Centre
- Location: Sheffield
- Department: Consultation & Examination
- Duration: 15 Weeks
- Brief: Fit out existing space for new consultation rooms
This project involved the transformation of an existing internal space to enhance the functionality and efficiency of the medical facility, improving both patient experience and staff operations.
The scope of works included the creation of seven new consulting rooms within an existing space, each fitted with modern IPS panels and integrated wash basins to meet infection control and current standards. A spacious new waiting area was developed to improve patient comfort, alongside a fully compliant disabled access W/C, ensuring accessibility for all users. To support staff and clinical operations, the project also delivered dedicated clean and dirty utility rooms.
Construction works featured the installation of 6-metre-high internal partitions, delivering effective soundproofing and structural division of spaces. A full overhaul of mechanical and electrical systems was completed, ensuring the facility meets current standards for healthcare environments.
Additional elements of the fit-out included, vinyl flooring throughout for hygiene and easy maintenance. New fire-rated internal doors installed to meet safety regulations. Full internal decoration, enhancing the environment for both patients and staff.
A key challenge of this project was that all works were carried out within a live, functioning medical centre. This required meticulous planning, close coordination with centre staff, and phased scheduling to minimise disruption to clinical services and patient care.
The completed project marks a significant upgrade to the Woodseats Medical Centre, increasing clinical capacity and improving patient flow, all while maintaining the highest standards of construction and compliance.
