The completion of Phase 1 & 2 in the ongoing refurbishment project on The Jessops maternity ward, delivered for The Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with phase 3 & 4 to complete.
This refurbishment project is being carried out within a live environment, requiring meticulous planning, phased coordination, and close collaboration with NHS staff to ensure all works are delivered without disruption to vital clinical services.
The overall refurbished area will provide a significantly improved care environment and upgraded facilities across the maternity ward. The overall scheme includes;
- 25 fully refurbished inpatient bed spaces
- New en-suite bathrooms for improved patient dignity and comfort
- Modern shower facilities and accessible WCs to enhance accessibility
- Dedicated staff areas, including changing rooms and office space to support the healthcare team
- Upgraded clean and dirty utility rooms to support critical clinical workflows and infection control
The design and fit-out are being delivered to high healthcare standards, with attention to detail in finishes, lighting, ventilation, and accessibility. Sustainability and energy efficiency have also been factored into the refurbishment.
