Project Details
RLX Construction recently undertook a significant modernisation and refurbishment project at the Sheffield Northern General Hospital, specifically focussing on the Fracture Clinic. This project aimed to enhance the clinic’s facilities and create a more efficient and modern space for patients and staff.
One of the key challenges faced during this project was ensuring minimal disruption to the hospital’s daily operations. To address this, RLX Construction carefully segregated the works from live areas, allowing the project to proceed smoothly without impacting the surrounding hospital activities. Additionally, out-of-hours work was conducted when necessary to minimise any disturbances in live areas.
The scope of works included the demolition of existing finishes, blockwork walls, and stud walls, as well as the complete installation of all mechanical and electrical services. A new steel design deck was installed to accommodate the air handling unit, along with the construction of fire and non-fire line partitions, white rock wall cladding, certified fire doors, IPS panelling, and a reception desk.
RLX Construction’s meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality ensured that the refurbishment project at the Sheffield Northern General Hospital was completed successfully and to the highest standards. The result is a modernised Fracture clinic that not only meets but exceeds the expectations of patients, staff, and visitors.
