Project Overview
- Client: Arden Winch
- Location: Sheffield
- Department: Embroidery and Storage facility
- Duration: 30 Weeks
- Brief: Industrial factory extension
RLX Construction successfully delivered a two-phase factory extension project for long-standing client Arden Winch at their Sheffield facility, supporting the company’s continued growth and operational expansion.
Phase One – Embroidery Department Extension
The first phase focused on delivering a purpose-built extension to accommodate Arden Winch’s embroidery team. Works included the installation of a new reinforced concrete slab, the erection of a structural steel frame, and full external cladding. A large, accessible roller shutter door and multiple personnel doors were installed to improve movement and operational access.
Internally, the space was fully fitted with new mechanical and electrical (M&E) services, along with the construction of new staff toilet facilities. All works were carefully planned and executed around the client’s live operational environment, with particular attention given to maintaining clear access and uninterrupted logistics throughout the build.
Phase Two – Additional Storage Expansion
Following the successful completion of the first phase, RLX Construction was appointed to deliver a second extension directly adjoining the newly built embroidery warehouse. This additional space was designed to meet the client’s increasing storage requirements.
Works included a new concrete slab, erection of steelwork, external cladding, and the creation of new access points. The extension was also equipped with full M&E installations to integrate seamlessly with existing site services.
