Progress at Horatio Garden Sheffield
June saw the commencement of works at the Horatio Garden in Sheffield. This project is aimed at creating a therapeutic garden for spinal injury patients at the Northern General Hospital. The project’s groundworks and engineering phase began this month, including removing existing tarmac coverings, and setting out for the new scheme across the existing car park space.
RLX Construction’s Directors and Project Manager visited the Horatio Garden in London for an insight into a previous Horatio project. The visit provided valuable perspectives on design, construction practices, and patient engagement strategies that will be integral to the development of Horatio Garden Sheffield.
“We were able to see firsthand the positive impact such spaces have on patients and their families. We are excited to bring this vision to life in Sheffield, where the garden will serve as a sanctuary for those in need of a peaceful retreat.” Mick Wake, Project Manager
RLX Construction also carried out comprehensive fire door surveys in schools across Newark and Lincoln. These surveys are part of upcoming refurbishment projects scheduled for the school holidays. Replacing fire doors across the fire compartmentations, fire alarm upgrades and fire stopping works all aimed at enhancing safety and compliance across the two academies.
