February marks another month of success for RLX Construction. One of the standout achievements in February is the completion of an 18-month development project, showcasing our expertise in commercial development and refurbishment. Six terraced properties have been completely transformed into twelve units, comprising of six commercial units and six apartments split over two floors. This ambitious project not only revitalises the urban landscape but also provides valuable commercial and residential spaces, contributing to the community’s growth and development.
In line with our dedication to serving healthcare institutions, RLX Construction has commenced a new project at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital. The refurbishment of an old staircase in a short period of time demonstrates our commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure, ensuring safe and efficient access for patients, staff, and visitors.
Demonstrating our agility and efficiency, RLX successfully completed a roof light replacement scheme on 2 schools in Newark within the school holidays. This accomplishment showcases our ability to execute complex projects within tight timelines, minimising disruptions and ensuring the safety and comfort of building occupants.
Furthermore, we continued to prioritise the safety and well-being with the completion of two more rooms as part of our Safer Spaces scheme at The Northern General Hospital in Sheffield. These anti-ligature spaces provide a secure environment where the risk of self-harm or harm to others is a concern. We have worked closely with clients and architects to design and implement tailored solutions that minimise these risks while maintaining functionality and aesthetics.
Adding to our portfolio of healthcare projects, RLX proudly completed the refurbishment of waiting area at The Northern General Hospital in Sheffield within a week, working out of hours to ensure completion within the short time period. The upgraded waiting area enhances the patient experience, offering comfort and convenience during what can often be stressful times.
In another significant accomplishment, we concluded the final phase of our fire door replacement scheme in Lincoln, meeting stringent certification standards set by BM TRADA, ensuring the protection of occupants and assets in the education sector.
Our Grade II listed building refurbishment saw the installation of limecrete flooring. The introduction of limecrete flooring represents a carefully considered decision aimed at marrying historical preservation with contemporary functionality. Limecrete, a blend of lime, aggregates, and reinforcement fibers, offers a versatile and eco-friendly alternative to traditional flooring materials, providing both structural stability and thermal performance. The installation of limecrete flooring presents several advantages, including improved breathability, moisture control, and compatibility with historic structures. Unlike conventional concrete, limecrete allows for the natural exchange of moisture vapour, reducing the risk of dampness and preserving the integrity of the building’s original materials.
